Immigration Services Program

U.S. Citizenship & Legal Support

There are many benefits to becoming a US citizen, including the right to vote and run for public office. If you are a permanent resident with a Green Card, you may qualify for naturalization. You must be:

  • 18 or older
  • Be a Legal Permanent Resident (LPR) for more than 5 years or more than 3 years if married and living with a US citizen spouse
  • Have good moral character (no criminal record)

Citizenship interviews can be conducted in your language of choice if your years of being an LPR have been met.

The Fresno Center offers citizenship classes in four languages: Hmong, Lao, Khmer, and Spanish. Our classes are free of charge and we can assist clients with applying for fee waivers or fee reductions upon qualification. TFC can also provide access to free legal services for those seeking naturalization services.
